Montreal Amateur Radio Club

Update - St. Lazare Cyclo-Tour - Sunday, May 28, 2006.

April 30, 2006

There have been some minor changes since the last press release of January 27, 2006.

I am still looking for Amateur Radio volunteers for the St. Lazare Cyclo-Tour on May 28, 2006 in St. Lazare, Quebec. So far we have fifteen volunteers and I would like to have about twelve to fifteen more operators. The Montreal Amateur Radio Club, West Island Amateur Radio Club, Covey Hill Amateur Radio Club and the Club Radio Amateur Laval-Laurentides so far have committed operators for the event so if you aren't already committed, feel free to do so.

The details as I have them are:

Briefing at 08:00 to 08:30 at Parc Bedard near the intersection of Chemin Bedard and Chemin Ste. Angelique - the parking lot is off of Chemin Bedard.  The Cyclo-Tour starts at 10:00 and finishes around 14:30 or so.

Radio Frequencies in use: Montreal Amateur Radio Club (VE2ARC) portable repeater 147.015 (plus offset) and 146.580 simplex (note change in simplex frequency from the last press release).

You will be issued a volunteer (Cyclo-Tour) T-shirt and water so getting there early is important.

Important Notice: This is not a race - it is a pleasure cycle around residential streets. We have cyclists of all ages and qualifications - so your help is very important for the well being of all participants.

This event runs rain or shine, so bring appropriate gear! If you want to volunteer or want more information, please feel free to contact me at my e-mail address.
