Canadian Guide Dogs Amateur Radio Association, VA3CGD was established in 1994, the year the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind was celebrating its 10th Birthday.  The Station is set up for Visually Impaired Students attending the CGDB School in Manotick, Ontario.  CGDARA is asking as many net controllers as possible to make this Announcement on Club or other Canadian or US Nets CGD Amateur Radio Association is independent from The Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind and does not use CGDB money.

Announcement: To be read on the air.

"The Canadian Guide Dogs Amateur Radio Association, call sign VA3CGD is soliciting submissions for a logo design.  This logo is to be used on it's web site and correspondence.  A contest to find such a logo is now in effect; everyone, amateur and non-amateur alike are invited to participate. Detailed information is available on the CGD A.R.A. web site at: http://www.va3cgd.net or may be obtained from:

Logo Contest Information:

Same as that on the web site, can be given out on the air as the reader sees fit.

1. The contest in now open to everyone and will run until 15 March 2001.
2. Maximum of 2 submissions per participant.
3. Submissions can be either computer designed (graphic file) or hard copy (drawn on paper)
4. Design must be suitable for use on stationary (white background) and web site (coloured texture).
5. Designs may be of any shape and may be colour or monochrome.
If working on large scale, logo must be reduced and retain detail
at a maximum of 200 x 200 pixels for Graphics, or 2 x 2 inches for hard copy.
6. Design must include the following text.  VA3CGD, Canadian Guide Dogs.  They must also contain either Amateur Radio Association or ARA in either lower case or capitals.  They may contain symbols and/or objects.
7. Designs should not have any content that infringes on copyright laws (be original).
8. The CGDARA Reserves itself the right to reject any entry.
9. Entries will be judged by an independent panel.
10. Winning entry and runner up will be posted on web site.
11. In keeping with a very limited budget, a prize of only token value will be awarded.
