Subject: Radio in Montreal
Many of you probably had the opportunity to read Peggy Currans TV & Radio column in the January 10, 2001 Montreal Gazette, Sending Signals. If you did not, here is the URL which will take you to the actual article.

Thanks to the column, which publicized the existence of the International Radio Report on CKUT-Radio McGill (after only 13 years on the air!!), and a brief mention of an online club for fans of Montreal radio, I have been contacted by several members of the Montreal radio community, including programme directors, on-air people and others in the radio business, who are now monitoring the activities of the club, as well as listening in to our programme.
Some of you may already be regular listeners to the show, and a number of you have joined the Radio In Montreal on-line club. For that I thank you. This, however is directed at others.
Given the fact that we now know that we have the attention of many of the radio insiders, I feel it important to take advantage of this and strike while the iron is hot.
Therefore I want to give you the details of the Radio in Montreal club. If you have an interest in what goes on in Montreal radio, I encourage you to visit the club page, and hopefully join in and participate.
The club is in the Yahoo Clubs group on the Internet. It is called Radio in Montreal and the URL is:
http: //clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/radioinmontreal.
To join, simply click on the Join This Club icon and follow the simple instructions. There are no fees involved. As a member, you are able to post your own comments, react to others, plus use club services such as the chat and link sections. You can also direct private e-mails to any individual members of the club.
Should you choose not to become a member, you can still access the club to read the postings, but you will not be able to post material or react to posting, or interact with other club members.
Given the audience we now have, this club, and the comments posted in it are even more important. This is a unique open forum, free of intimidation, for fans of Montreal radio to get things off their chest; to make comments or suggestions about radio in Montreal that we know will be getting to the people who make the decisions.
Make use of this great opportunity that we have. Also spread the word of the club. Invite friends who you know are interested in radio in the Montreal region. Be active, and reactive.
If you have any problems accessing the club, or if you have any questions about it, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your time and attention. If you are already a member of the Radio in Montreal club, thank you for your support.
