At the Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday, June 6, 2001, it was proposed that the club apply to Radio Amateurs du Québec for the Special Callsign VC2A for the use at the Canada Day Special Event station at Canada Day festivities at Pine Beach Park in Dorval, Québec. The club's request was granted by RAQI the next day for July 1, 2001. The station will be on the air from about 15h00 EDT to 21h00 EDT (19h00 UTC July 1 to 01h00 UTC July 2, 2001) July 1, 2001 though the station may come on the air earlier and stay on a little later than scheduled, conditions permitting.

On Wednesday, June 6th, The following amateurs helped remove the HF yagi, 2 metre yagi, mast and rotor from the MAB station.
Steven Faguy VA2SMF, Sheldon Werner VA2SH, Paul MacDougall VA2YQ, Earl Paris VE2ESP, Vernon Ikeda VE2MBS, Steven Donovan VE2OCT, Jim Hay VE2VE and Don Dashney VE3RM.
Steven, VE2OCT did all the work up the tower while the rest of us stayed on the roof.
