Subject: Field Day Post-Mortem
Well, we're still alive after 24 continuous hours of 2A operation. To make a long story short, we'll get to the specifics:
CONTESTING: We ended up with a total of around 1150 contacts, which I believe is about the same as last year. 38 of those were on 6m during openings on Saturday, with the rest on 10-80m with the two stations. Outside of that only a single contact was made. Don, I'm not sure if it's in the log so add it if it's not:
146.580 FM CG2SHW 1D QC 14:37 local (18:37Z Jun 23 if calculations are correct). Sheldon, with his special prefix was our sole direct 2m contact.
PUBLICITY: Could have been better. We had the banner up and were certainly garnering attention from the motorists, but only a few people actually showed up to inquire.
FIRE DEPT: Don Erquart and gang were the best hosts one could possibly have for field day. Every request was fulfilled and we borrowed the Bronto Skylift not once but twice during the weekend. With the help of Fred and the board of directors we'll be sending a very gracious thank you to the Pointe Claire FD. We'd also like to thank the 712 Comm Squadron for their tent, which we couldn't have done field day without.
PICTURES: Stephen Donovan's digital pictures have already come in. John, myself and Ken VE2KLF also took pictures during the event, which should be developped within the next while. Included are pictures of the bronto, the team in front of our banner, and a few other field day related shots.
OPERATORS: Here's an as-complete-as-I-remember list of hams who showed up.

In addition, VE2EQL's XYL and family friend also showed up. Also thanks to John Dabby who showed up to pick up the tent.
FINALLY: On behalf of myself and the organizing committee, I'd like to express my sincere thanks to everyone who helped with this year's field day, and most especially John, Don, Wade, Andy, Fred and Raymond for equipment, operating, and running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to make this thing work.
