Amateur Radio operators from the Montreal Amateur Radio Club, the Club Radio Amateur Laval-Laurentide, the Covey Hill Amateur Radio Club and the West Island Amateur Radio Club helped provide communications at the Grande Parade de Canal on Saturday, May 25, 2002. Many thanks to the VE2LZR Communications group and Ken Magee for providing the pop-up tent for the main control station. A special thanks to Andy Beard for pitching in at the end and to Fred Hart for making a few phone calls and giving road directions.
A message from the President of the Montreal Amateur Radio Club to the volunteers is after the list of volunteers.

Hi folks,
As an event unfolds it is not always clear that any one person is making a useful contribution. To be sure there were some problems and some gaps in planning, or execution, of the event. I can assure you all that each one of you contributed to the success of the day.
At the end of the day as we were packing up the control station I was approached by Annick Moreau who is the director general of the event who was quite enthusiastic in her thanks for our participation and how well we handled the communications.
Thanks to all of you for another successful communications event. I know that getting up, as many of you did, at 4:00 AM wasn't a whole lot of fun but I think it was worthwhile from the results we achieved.
In short thank you all for a good job well done.
73 de Jim.
