This is a message that was sent to me by John Grow, VE2EQL for general distribution to MARC members but since the MarcOgram () isn't being published (and there is no meeting),  I thought I would send it to my mailing list instead.

Santa Claus Communication to the North Pole via HF at the Montreal Shriners Hospital.

Every year, I with some members of the 712 Communications Squadron, Canadian Forces Reserve, Montreal Detachment.

On Wednesday,  December 18th starting at 9:30 AM EST, we will be communicating with Santa Claus at the North Pole via HF radio.  We will be operating on 14.200 MHz in the Amateur band and 6.754 Mhz.  It will finish at 11:45 AM.  We will be using a base set up of the PRC-138 transceiver, and 400 watt amplifier with automatic antenna tuner.  The antenna will be mounted on top of the Montreal Shriners Hospital.  Past years we were operating around 50.00 Mhz on FM.  This year, we are going to HF for a wider coverage, and military communications check-in with CFB Trenton, CFB Bagotville and CFB Alert.

Thank you,
John VE2EQL
