The 180th Consecutive St. Patrick's Day Parade in Montreal - Sunday, March 14, 2004
Good Afternoon,
On Sunday, March 14, 2004, members of the local Amateur Radio community played a role in the 180th Consecutive St. Patrick's Day parade in Montreal. While our primary task that day was to escort the Queen's Float down Ste. Catherine Street, we also assisted the Parade Marshals at the end of the parade route.

In addition, James R. Hay, VE2VE and myself (Vernon E. Ikeda, VE2MBS) operated the Control Station on both the Amateur and Commercial radio networks.

In addition, James and myself would like to publicly thank the Concordia University Amateur Radio Club, VE2CUA and its President, Steven Faguy, VA2SMF for the use of the 147.045 (VE2RCU) repeater and to Ken Magee, VE2EXC and the St. Lazare Communications Group, VE2LZR for providing the orange safety vests for this event. Also a bit of extra thanks to Raymond, VE2SJA for volunteering to be our Chef d'Equipe (Team Leader) and Ken, VE2EXC his asssistant.
