Communiqué from RAQI.
May 29, 2001

Certain individuals are circulating a message to the effect that RAQI is doing nothing to correct the problem of frequency co-ordination in Québec.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Several months before the resignation of the frequency co-ordinator, RAQI had been actively seeking a replacement since we had been advised by Bruno that he wished to retire.

In the time which has passed it has become clear that no one wanted to take up this thankless task.

I am therefore in the process of finding a new way to solve what is an endemic problem here.

I am within a few days of announcing news which I think will finally resolve the problem of frequency co-ordination in Québec.

It is deplorable that some ill-informed individuals chose a public means of advancing a personal cause.

Finally, I ask you to please give this communiqué the widest possible circulation so that the amateur radio community has a better idea of what is really happening on this subject.

73,

Daniel A. Lamoureux, VE2KA,
President de RAQI.
