RAQI Communiqué 2003-02

Radio Amateur du Québec Inc. (RAQI) is pleased to announce the launch of its new web site which can be consulted at http://www.raqi.ca. The new suite of pages is the result of 6 months of effort by a team of 7 volunteers who have devoted more than 1500 hours to this project. RAQI would like to thank webmaster James Hay, VE2VE, Project Advisors, Bobby Wait, VE2KBM, Alain Blanchette, VA2ABL and Vernon Ikeda, VE2MBS as well as the stagiaires Carole Benette, Don Mccracken and Martin Huneault for their efforts. The latter 3 are students in E-Commerce at John Abbott College.
The new RAQI web site includes three sections: one with general information; one reserved for members in good standing of RAQI and one for the presidents of member clubs of RAQI. The general information section lets Quebecers know about the world of amateur radio. This section also allows radio amateurs who are not members of RAQI information to entice them to join the provincial association.
The members section of the RAQI web site includes a multitude of information useful to active radio amateurs as well as some interesting means of exchange. Members will be able to upload information, in the form of articles, links, photos etc. to share with other members. The RAQI members section is interactive and members can also exchange among themselves as well as having an internal e-mail function within the members section.
Finally, the president's section permits the presidents of member clubs to exchange among themselves ideas and tools and other aids to help their daily tasks as club presidents.
