RAQI Communiqué 2003-03

Bulletin 2003-03 - May 28, 2003

At the annual general meeting of the provincial association Radio Amateur du Quebéc, Inc. (RAQI), delegates met and proceeded to the modification of the by-laws of the association with a view to permitting all members in good standing of RAQI, without exception, to attend general meetings, whether special or annual.

The complete text of the by-laws of the association can be found in the member's section of the new RAQI web site.

For several years only delegates appointed by local clubs have had the right to attend the annual general meeting of RAQI and this has been an irritant for a growing number of members. The board of directors along with the annual general meeting have opted for greater transparency and completely open democracy in the institutions of RAQI. All agree that this democratization will position your provincial association for the years to come.

For several years various changes to the by-laws have moved closer to this goal. The major revision in 1999 allowed each division within RAQI to elect a representative to the board of directors and gave the members of these divisions the possibility of having a direct impact on the future of their provincial association. Now, with these last changes to the by-laws members can say that they participate wholly and completely in the democratic running of RAQI, their association.

All RAQI members are invited to follow in the bimonthly magazine and on the website in the member's section the activities and meetings of their provincial association.
